Dear friends of Mutual Dance Theatre,

We felt it was important to inform you of significant developments that have impacted — and will continue to impact — our organization and our service to you for years to come.

Federal funding through the National Endowment for the Arts has been instrumental to our presentations of guest artists, which are the region’s only consistent series of touring Modern and Contemporary Dance.

Today, this pivotal support for the arts is vanishing before our eyes: grants have been terminated and the agency will no longer be staffed after May 31. We ask you to consider action to help Mutual Dance Theatre and Arts Centers and countless other arts organizations across our nation.

NEA funding alone is 7% of our budget, but we expect even greater losses when other dependent sources are affected, as well. The collective impact across the nation is staggering.

We ask you to consider the following actions:

1. Contact Congress and encourage your representatives to support funding the National Endowment for the Arts. Find your elected officials at usa.gov/elected-officials.
2. Give a stretch gift or sign-up for monthly donations to Mutual Dance Theatre at mutualdance.org/support.
3. Spread awareness through discussion and the re-sharing this information, which you may find our social media account.
